As an avid hunter, I spent a long time trying to research where I wanted to go elk hunting. I met with several guides at sportsman's shows and it was the same information at each one. I was extremely frustrated until I met Mike Jenkins with Upfront Outfitters. We hit it off immediately and began forming a friendship. I have been fortunate enough to hunt with Mike on two occasions and hope for several more. I was able to hunt in Washington as well as Oregon for Roosevelt elk. The amount of behind-the-scenes work that is put in by Mike and his team is like no other. There is nothing they won't do to try and put you in the right situation to harvest an animal. The accommodations are top-notch as well. Whether this means you're staying in a wall tent, a regular tent, or even a hammock on the side of the mountain, there is always amazing food followed up with fantastic conversation and stories. I personally think this is a top-notch organization and would recommend hunting with them if you want a truly amazing experience.

As with any guided hunt experience, the best gauge of success is whether you would decide to spend your hard-earned $ to go back. I can say an emphatic YES! Mike and his team run a great operationand most importantly they do what they say they are going to do - hunt hard for you! Even when you don't realize it - as our guide was putting us on pre-scouted areas, I soon learned the camp team was out scouting additional areas to keep us on the game as much as possible. Experienced hunters know multiple things can affect your potential to harvest an animal, including unseasonably hot dry weather, for Jason our guide - challenge accepted! He did a tremendous job of keeping us focused in areas that would produce elk, and adjusting tactics given the conditionswhich ultimately led to a filled Roosevelt Elk archery tag! I can't say enough of how hard Mike, Jason, and the team worked to ensure we had a satisfying, enjoyable, and safe hunt and most importantly they are just good people! Great team that really knows the Pacific Northwest and how to hunt Roosie Bulls - looking forward to my next hunt with this team!
