Your Experience
ALASKA SITKA DEER HUNTING
Sitka Deer hunts in Southeast Alaska are generally conducted in Late November in combination with our Late Season Mountain Goat hunts. They are still in rut at this time and they are typically on the beaches and very accessible this time of year. The combo Mountain Goat/Sitka Deer hunt runs from November 15 – 25 each year. We typically run 100% opportunity on these stocky, unique, beautiful deer, and typically 100% success as well, as there are very good populations in our hunting area. They run in score size typically 70 to 90 points on the Boone & Crockett Club scale but do occasionally get some in the high 90’s to 100 point range as well.
The Sitka Deer in Alaska are fun and exciting to hunt, and have unique color and markings compared to any other Deer species. All Sitka Deer hunts will be based on current weather and hunt conditions and can change at the last minute.
We also provide a Sitka Deer hunt Nov. 26 – Dec. 1, and require a FOUR HUNTER MINIMUM. You would plan to originate and depart from Juneau, Alaska for these hunts, with a float plane flight to/from the Yacht.

Hunting / Trapping Licenses and Permits
Alaska offers opportunities to harvest game and fur animals unmatched in any other state. However, no one may harvest game or fur animals without first acquiring the appropriate license and any tags, permits, or harvest tickets required for specific hunts.
Big Game Locking-Tags
Nonresident hunters must buy appropriate locking-tags to hunt big game in Alaska — this tag is locked on the animal immediately after the kill and must remain there until the animal is processed or exported. In addition to a hunting license, some resident hunters must buy a brown/grizzly bear locking-tag or a muskox locking-tag if hunting these species. Please refer to the Alaska Hunting Regulations while planning your hunt to determine if you need a locking-tag.
Permits / Harvest Tickets
Drawing Permits
Most drawing hunts are available to residents and nonresidents and are awarded by lottery. The application period for drawing hunts is during November and December.
