Rules & Guidelines
To ensure a safe, ethical, and memorable turkey hunting experience, we ask all guests to respect the following house rules during their stay:
1. Safety Comes First
- Treat every firearm as if it's loaded - at all times.
- Keep your shotgun on safety until your guide gives the green light to shoot.
- No loaded firearms in vehicles or around the lodge.
- No alcohol or impairing substances allowed before or during the hunt.
2. Licensing & Tags
- All hunters must arrive with a valid Oklahoma hunting license and appropriate spring turkey tags.
- Make sure your tags are specific to the region and season dates.
- It is your responsibility to understand Oklahoma's turkey regulations.
3. Guide Instructions
- Follow your guide’s direction at all times.
- Guides determine setup locations, calling strategies, and approach based on bird behavior and terrain.
- Disrespecting guide instruction may result in removal from the property.
4. Hunting Ethics
- Only shoot mature gobblers as outlined in Oklahoma regulations.
- No shooting hens.
- Only take clean, ethical shots - do not shoot at birds beyond your range.
- Report any missed shots, wounded birds, or concerns immediately to your guide.
5. Game Recovery & Bird Handling
- Guides will assist in locating and recovering your bird.
- All harvested turkeys will be properly tagged and logged.
- Hunters must bring their own cooler for meat and transport if desired.
6. Lodging Expectations
- Quiet hours begin at 10 PM to allow for early mornings.
- No smoking inside the lodge or near gear.
- Please be respectful of other hunters and keep shared spaces clean.
- Use the designated mudroom or outdoor area for boots and hunting clothes.
7. Alcohol & Substances
- Alcohol is permitted after the hunt has concluded for the day.
- Absolutely no alcohol or drugs in the field or before the hunt begins.
8. Harvest Limits
- Your hunt includes one mature gobbler.
- Wounded birds may count as your harvest.
9. Gratuities
- Tipping is appreciated and customary for your guide’s hard work.
- Typical gratuity ranges from 15 - 20% of your hunt cost based on service and success.
