Bear hunting with hounds
These bear hunts are very fast paced and fun. A hound hunt can be a physical hunt which could last for hours or be done fast. We will go to the bait sites in the morning to check the cameras to size up the bear and make a decision on weather to run it or go to another site. When we find a bear to run we will let the dogs down to run it. We follow these hunts with gps tracking collars so to get the hunters in the right spot to harvest a trophy bear.
We recommend that you hunt with a rifle no smaller than a .243 cal or a shotgun with slugs when on Maine Black Bear Hunts. If you would like to use a bow you must use broadheads no smaller than 7/8" when on Maine Black Bear Hunts. All Maine Bear Hunts are from the lodge and we provide cooked meals.
Base price is for 3 Day Hunt no meals or lodging included. Make it a 5-Day hunt for additional fee. Also add meals and lodging

Rules & Guidelines
Your Bear Hunt Equipment
When on Maine Bear Hunts you should bring green silent camouflage clothing with enough layers suitable for temperatures 40° to 70° F. You should bring gloves, rain gear, a camo face mask, and a good pair of rubber boots along with any personal hunting gear you want. Scent Lock Suits are recommended but not required for a good Maine Bear Hunt. You will need to bring flashlight, camera and rain gear.
Bring your weapon of choice for your Maine Bear Hunt. For archery clients, in Maine you must by law use broadheads that are no smaller than 7/8" opened. Shotguns with slugs, .50 caliber or larger muzzleloaders, Rifles .243 or larger, hand guns are legal, the bigger the better. We have all the tree stands.
