Iguana Hunting Charter with Captain Carlos

2-6 Guests • No Lodging • Public • Guided

Description

Half-Day Iguana Hunt Charter

4-hours of Hunting

Captain Carlos can put you on the iguanas! Help put a dent in this invasive species humanely & legally. Don't just book with anyone, book with a U.S.C.G. licensed and insured Captain who has the knowledge and skill to take these beauties down the right way.

Our private Iguana Charters take place aboard a 19' center console bay boat. We use a .22 caliber air rifle with a scope as well as a noose to hunt the iguanas. This boat is powered by a 2021 Suzuki 150hp engine. The boat is equipped with Garmin Electronics and a Minn Kota trolling motor. This hunting/fishing charter service is very family-oriented and welcomes all ages and groups. Our recommended minimum age to utilize our air rifles is 10 years old. However, it all depends on the child and their hunting experience.

If you have groups of 6 or more hunters we will arrange for a second boat to accommodate the group so big groups are welcome!

This charter will give you the experiences and moments that you will never forget!

Commonly Asked Questions:

Do you eat the iguanas?

  • Yes, we call them "chicken of the tree". You can clean your harvest and fry them up. They are awesome on tacos. Iguanas can be cleaned for a tip. Captain Carlos will cut the legs and tails for you. He does not skin them.

How do you hunt them?

  • On a boat, with air rifles, or a noose on a fishing pole. We kill every iguana humanely with our air rifles.

Why do you hunt them?

  • They are an invasive species in South Florida and the population is out of control. They are causing damage to so many residents' homes/yards.

Do you need a license to hunt them?

  • No. "Like all nonnative reptile species, green iguanas are not protected in Florida except by anti-cruelty law and can be humanely killed on private property with landowner permission. This species can be captured and humanely killed year-round and without a permit or hunting license on 25 public lands in South Florida".

Base price is for 3 guests for a 4 hour chater. Additional guests can be added for an additional fee per person. For groups of 6+ an additional boat can be added.

FAQ's

Will other people be on my fishing charter/hunt?

  • No, the only people that will be on your private fishing charter/hunt are people in your party, Captain Carlos, and maybe a mate if/when needed.

What Happens if it Rains?

  • Rain alone is not cause for a charter/hunt to be rescheduled. As long as conditions are safe, we will run trips in the rain. Absent of lightning, rain may be uncomfortable but is not dangerous and has little effect on hunting/fishing. If your trip is canceled due to inclement weather, we will do our best to reschedule your charter for your preferred date. if the trip cannot be rescheduled, you will receive a full refund, your safety is our number one priority.

What if my charter is canceled due to inclement weather conditions?

  • In the event of a captain cancellation, your deposit can be applied to another date or refunded.

What if I Need to Cancel the Charter I Booked?

  • We get it, things happen. If you need to cancel your booking, we ask that you give us 10 days' notice. you will receive a full refund of your deposit if canceled within 10 days of your booked charter date. if you cancel your booking with less than 10 days' notice, you will lose the deposit.

Where will we meet Captain Carlos for our Charter?

  • Captain Carlos will tell you where to meet upon booking. For saltwater charters, you will commonly meet Captain Carlos at Harvey E. Oyer Jr. Park in Boynton Beach, FL. Please keep in mind he will confirm exactly where to meet him once you book. We do have other locations where we meet guests for pick up depending on fishing/hunting conditions.
