Idaho Spring or Fall Bear Hunting

DIY, 2x1, or 1x1 Guided Hunt



Our Area has a healthy population of Black Bears, Our Idaho Bear Hunts are done in Unit 25 & 20 A along the South Fork of the Salmon River. You can see anything

from a typical Black Bear in color to color Phase bears with shades of brown, Blonde, or Cinnamon.

An average Black Bear can weigh 90 to 300 plus lbs depending on Age, Sex, health, and season. Although up to 85% of Black Bears diet consists of Vegetation and Bugs,

Black Bears are Omnivores which means they can also be hard on our Newborn Elk Calves and Mule Deer Fawns!


Wolf Tags can be added to any of our Bear Hunts!


Cabin-based Guided hunts

  • Cabin Based / Guided April 23 Early Spring Spot & Stalk - This hunt is based out of our place in Yellow Pine, Idaho. Hunters have our Guest Cabin * Note we only take 2 Hunters During this week So if you book a 1 ON 1 we will book another 1 On 1 Hunter and the Cabin will be shared.
  • Breakfast & Dinner are served at the main House and hunters take a sack lunch for the Day
  • Mornings we trailer horses approximately 40 minutes to a Hour to Different Trail Heads

On this hunt we spend long hours Riding, Hiking, & glassing to locate bears, so being fit and putting in a lot of hours on this hunt is a must!

During this time the bears are very active during the day looking for food, with the cool weather! The Bears usually hibernate high in the mountains, so they seek southerly slopes below the snow line in the early spring where vegetation is starting to grow in the early spring months.


  • Cabin-Based / Guided May 4th Spot & Stalk Black Bear Hunts with Bait- This Hunt is Based out of our place in Yellow Pine, Idaho. Hunters have our Guest Cabin if you book a 1 ON 1 we will book another 1 On 1 hunter or 2 On 1 Hunters and the Cabin will be shared.
  • Breakfast & Dinner are served at the main House and hunters take a sack lunch for the Day
  • Mornings we drive approximately 40 minutes to a Hour to Different Trail Heads

On these hunts we spend the day Riding, Hiking, & Glassing and get set up in the Evenings on our Bait sites.


  • Cabin-Based / Guided May 28th to June 30th Bait Hunts - This Hunt is Based out of our place in Yellow Pine, Idaho. Hunters have our Guest Cabin if you book a 1 ON 1 we will book another 1 On 1 hunter or 2 On 1 Hunters and the Cabin will be shared.
  • Breakfast & Dinner are served at the main House and hunters take a sack lunch for the Day
  • Mornings we drive approximately 40 minutes to a Hour to Different Trail Heads

On these hunts, we typically head to our Bait sites and get set up at About 2 or 3 in the evening, which leaves the early part of the day wide open to other Outdoor activities. If you choose you and your Guide can take horses in the early mornings and try to catch a bear or wolf out and about.


  • DIY Spring Bear Hunts over Bait May 14th to June 30th- On these hunts, we have a full camp set up ( Tent, wood stove, cots, foams, lanterns, and a kitchen set up ) in our area along the South Fork of the Salmon River, the site is a roadside site. Our crew will take you around and show you the bait sites which are typically a 20 to 30-minute hike to get to. During the week our crew will be going around restocking the bait sites in the mornings. On these hunts you Bring your own food, personal gear, communication device, card reader to check the game cams and use your own vehicle or ATVs to get to the bait sites. If you get game down our guide can assist with dressing the animal out and will bring the hide and any meat you would like to keep back to the cooler in Yellow Pine. There is also fishing opportunities ( as long as the water isn’t too high due to spring run off ), hotsprings to soak in, and shed hunting opportunities along with wolf hunting opportunities!!!!


  • Guided Fall Bear Hunt with Bait August 29th to September 12th cabin or Camp Based Hunts- This Hunt can be cabin-based or be a Camp based hunt on the South Fork
  • We can accommodate 4 Hunters During this hunt
  • On our Fall bear hunts we typically get set up on the bait sites in the evenings, so it leaves you plenty of time for fishing or hitting the hot springs!



Base price is per person for a self-guided Baited Hunt (2 person minimum). Make it a 2x1 or 1x1 Guided Hunt for an additional fee. Add on Non-Hunters for an additional fee per non hunter.
