North Central BC Hunting

We offer hunts for Whitetail and Mule deer, as a single species or combination hunt. Due to the mild winters, we have been having and recent government restrictions, we have great deer hunting opportunities. We hunt both private and public land, in a variety of locations throughout the guide area. We typically hunt our deer in the later season, this results in us being able to look over a lot more deer and choose the right buck.

Mule deer have long been considered one of the most sought-after big game trophy animals, and here. We can produce some incredible wall hangers. Our mature bucks will range from the 160s clear up to 200 +, with both typical and non-typical antler configurations.

The Whitetail hunting is equally as good, or maybe even better than, our mule deer hunting. These northern giants have seen one monster recently tape in at 230 non-typical…..bucks like this are not around every corner, but the habitat and genetics are in place. A good average mature buck will go 140 to 180, and once again we see both typical and non-typical antlers

The southern portion of our area consists mainly of Agricultural land and cattle range, we work closely with landowners to ensure access to some of the best hunting spots. For anyone looking to harvest one or both deer species worthy of the record books book with us and see why only the most astute deer hunters hunt with us.

Mule Deer Facts

• There are about 165,000 mule deer in BC’s interior.

• Mule deer are primarily browsers.

• Muley’s can weigh over 250 lbs.

• Lifespan is typically 9-11 years.

• Muley’s are considered one of our iconic Western hunting big game species.

• Eyesight can pick up movement out to 600 yards, but motionless forms are hard to pick up.

• Their sense of smell may be 1000x our own……mind the wind.

• If alarmed a buck may flee but it has a typical flaw in its retreat, it stops and looks back, stay ready!

• First light produces deer.

• They bed not far from their food source.

• The rut runs from the end of Oct through Nov.

• Bucks will go from the 150 to 180 range.

Getting Here

You can drive yourself to camp we are about 12 hours north of the Washington State border. Get on Hwy 97 north, you will either meet us in Quesnel (1 hour south of Prince George) or Vanderhoof (1 hour west of Prince George). Plan to arrive in camp a day before your hunt starts. We will share additional directions as needed.

If you choose to fly in, you will fly into Prince George (XYS). West Jet and AirCanada from Vancouver to Prince George flights are available 6 flights per day. We will meet you and pick you up from the airport the day before your hunt starts and plan to fly out the day after your last day of hunting. We suggest flying in a day early and booking accommodations with the Prestige Hotels and Resorts from there, we will arrange your pick-up and delivery.

A good hunter is a prepared hunter. In order to give you the best and most comfortable overall experience, we ask that you bring the items listed below. If there is an issue bringing any of the dry goods and hardware listed please let us know in advance and we will be happy to make other arrangements for you if possible. My grandpa always used to say ‘check the list twice, and go out the front door once!’

Base price is per person for a 1x1 Guided 8-Day Deer Hunt. Add on a non-hunter for an additional fee.
