Rules & Guidelines
Flight Information
Ideally located two hours from the Port Elizabeth airport.
Flight tip: Although the airline tells you that you are checked into Port Elizabeth, you will have to pick up your luggage in Johannesburg and check it in again for the internal flight to Port Elizabeth, this is because Johannesburg is the point of entry in South Africa.
For your return, you will not have to collect your luggage again in Johannesburg as it will be sent directly to your final destination of check in.
Please note that your firearms will never come out with your luggage you will have to collect them from Security.
Customs and Immigration
Passports are required for all visitors to South Africa, with the expiration date no less than 6 months after the date of departure from your country of origin. The passport needs to have at least two blank pages for use by customs in South Africa.
Clients who bring their own firearms need to collect them from the Security Company at Johannesburg International where they will be issued with a Temporary Import Permit.
You may not enter South Africa with two rifles of the same caliber or automatic or semi-automatic firearms. The maximum amount of ammunition allowed is 200 rounds per caliber. The weapons must be transported in rifle cases, and ammunition in ammunition boxes, they must be kept separate and cannot be checked in with your luggage. With regards to your normal luggage, you must abide by the rules and regulations of the airline you are traveling with.
Currency Converter for South Africa
Exchange Rate: For current exchange rates please use our Currency Converter.
The constant devaluation of the rand means that you should find the local products most affordable, but imported and specially manufactured items tend to be expensive. Generally, you will find a fine cuisine, wine, and entertainment cost a fraction of the cost of similar establishments elsewhere in the world.
CREDIT CARDS: Visa, Master Card, American Express and Diners Club are accepted by most restaurants, hotels, and shops. Identification documents may be requested in some cases, so it is recommended that you carry your passport at all times.
BANKS: Most banks in South Africa are open Monday to Friday between 9:00 am and 3:30 pm, and Saturday from 8:30 am - 11:00 am. All major malls have ATMs. Most ATMs accept your card if it bears the Cirrus logo. Traveler’s checks and major currencies are easily exchangeable in banks.
Suitable Rifle and Ammunition for South African Hunting
The subject of rifles, calibers, and ballistics, is a vast and comprehensive matter and each hunter has his own ideas and is used to his own rifle. Without going into too much detail we concentrate on the rifle and bullets which are suitable for our type of hunting in our areas. We recommend a rifle that shoots as flat as possible as we shoot up to a distance of 250 m.
Please take into account that automatic and or semi-automatic rifles are no longer allowed to be brought into South Africa.

- 300 WM - 150 and 180 gr
- 270 - 150 gr
