The Sanctuary is a castle-like structure built on acres of wild forestland near a lake. The house itself includes two suites with private entrances and private courtyards or decks with gas BBQs and outdoor dining options, along with stunning views. Both have gas fireplaces and plenty of space.

The First Light Suite is a condo-style apartment with a private East-garden entrance. Wake to the light of a new dawn replete with cheerful birdsong in this elegantly appointed antique and fine art suite. A scrumptiously comfortable Tempurpedic bed wrapped in a brass bedstead and flat screen TV and handmade Tibetan rugs on rustic alder wood floors complete the luxurious ambiance.

Peaceful serenity defines the private steam sauna with eucalyptus oil. Set in an Asian-themed alcove complete with hand carved dragons, original Chinese art, and silk hangings, it invites rest, indulgence, and relaxation. Wrap up in a chamois robe and enjoy a glass of wine on your private patio to savor the moment afterwards.

The private powder room is luxuriously appointed with honey onyx vessel sink, antique court cupboard, a bidet, and fine art by Don Hatfield.

Enjoy star gazing, the many hiking trails over nearly 16 acres, the use of kayaks, and lovely contemplative spots. Feel free to gather herbs and lettuces from the nearby gardens. Breakfast is self-catered — either enjoy a light meal in-suite or visit a nearby restaurant or grocery store to fill your meal plans.

If you’re an angler looking for a great catch during your stay, you’re in luck here! World-class Steelhead and Cutthroat fishing are available in the Cowlitz River, as well as Tiger Muskie fishing in Lake Mayfield. Prepare to catch Muskies up to 50 inches.
