Saskatchewan Back Country Trip

1-10 Guests • Drop Camp • Private • Guided

Description

MAY - SEPTEMBER

Saddle up and head through the Prince Albert National Park into the Saskatchewan outback on a guided horse riding adventure. Set up camp on a remote lake in the Boreal forest where you can catch your supper and watch it be cooked by our team over the open flames of your campfire. Enjoy life as it was with the opportunity to see wild bison, deer, elk, moose, lynx, and many bird species. Fall asleep to the sound of loons, coyotes or even wolves under a bed of stars and perhaps a magnificent display of northern lights.

Give yourself an extra day to relax by the lake or continue your adventure down the many trails in the area. A true Canadian cowboy experience.

Rules & Guidelines

RANCH HOUSE ROOM RENTALS

With all the amenities of home you can rest your legs at the end of the day and tell stories around the campfire. You never can tell when it'll break out into a game of horse shoes or song around these parts. We have several rooms that sleep up to 4 people in bunk beds. Other attractions around the ranch include canoeing, fishing, berry picking, bird watching, hiking/biking trails, sleigh rides, snowshoeing, music festivals, and more.

CAMPING

WHAT TO BRING

We ride rain or shine so be prepared with the proper attire to face the elements Saskatchewan nature throws at you.

  • Closed toe footwear. We strongly recommend footwear with a heel on it. We do have extra boots at the ranch but cannot guarantee we'll have your size.
  • Please wear long pants. No shorts, skirts, or dresses.
  • Bug spray and sunscreen.
  • Snacks or a lunch, and water for your trip. We do have saddle bags to store such things while riding, but space is limited.
  • A camera, to remember your ride in the park and to grab a picture with your trusty steed.
  • A full charged phone charger as there is nowhere to plug in and recharge on the trails.

WINTER RIDERS

  • It’s an amazing experience to ride in the winter around the ranch…as long as you are not cold!
  • So please be sure to bring warm winter clothes, winter boots, winter gloves and layer up.
