Remote Fly-In Newfoundland Moose Hunt

Description

Moose Capital of the World

We are a remote fly-in outfitting camp located in Moose Management Area (MMA) 39A on the Great Northern Peninsula of Newfoundland, Canada. Although under new ownership in 2019, the camp has a history of successful and satisfied clients. Since 2019 we have had great success with the hunters we have hosted but due to the pandemic, those numbers were low. The nearest town is Roddickton, NL. Due to the density of the moose population in the area Roddickton is known as the “Moose Capital of the world”. Newfoundland in itself is known for some of the best big game hunting east of Alaska. Moose hunting season begins the second week of September in NL and we will operate for 5 to 6 weeks following that date. The hunting experience will run from Sunday to Sunday. The remote location of the lodge means there is little hunting pressure on bears or moose in the area.

“There is hardly a day that passes that I don’t think of our trip and time in Newfoundland with fond memories! I fell in love with the country and the people there! You and guide team made the trip one of the best I have ever been on!" A. Crawford

Dunn Hill Lodge is fly-in only and is located on a pond surrounded by beautiful tundra-type country. With a mix of rolling hills and wooded valleys, it’s a fantastic area for hunting moose and bear. The lodge is a 20 to 30-minute flight by float plane from Hawkes Bay, NL. The float plane can accommodate 4 passengers per flight plus cargo. This flight will give you unforgettable views of nature and of the long-range mountains. In addition to our main lodge at Dunn Hill pond, we also have spike camps and access to a lodge located at Twin Lakes.

While we do offer that off-the-grid adventure there are also the amenities of generated electricity, hot/cold running water, wood heat, and most importantly quality home-cooked meals and desserts. Our main focus will be to provide a quality, positive, successful, personal, and memorable hunting experience.

Base price is per person for a non-trophy moose hunt. Make it a trophy hunt for an additional fee per person. Add on bear hunting or non-hunting guests for an additional fee per person.
