Rules & Guidelines

Location:

We are currently hunting on several ranches within 30 miles of Lamar, CO. We recommend staying in Lamar, CO. Lamar is the closest city with good lodging options and other services.

There are many good lodging options including Holiday Inn Express, Comfort Inn and Quality Suites.

We do recommend a good Airbnb in downtown Lamar called "The Loft". This is a very spacious loft apartment with 4 bedrooms, two living rooms and a nice big kitchen. They can sleep up to 8 people and the rate is $195/night. This is a much better option than booking 2-3 hotel rooms.

Transportation:

The majority of terrain you will encounter on our properties is gently rolling hills or wide open plains and easily traversed with just about any type of vehicle. A four-wheel drive vehicle is not necessary to get around.

Ammo/Caliber Restrictions:

No tracers, armor piercing or API. Soft point, hollow point and ballistic tip bullets are recommended and mitigate ricochets. Nothing larger than .30 cal rifles can be used on the dog towns.

AR-15 Rifles:

In order to make our hunts more sustainable and to try to keep ourselves in business we do not allow AR-15 type rifles. It is not a cost-effective way to utilize our leases. Only bolt action and other manually actuated rifles may be used for prairie dog hunts.

Please note: We do not function as a guide service for prairie dog hunts. Guides accompany clients during the hunt and/or provide equipment, lodging, meals, transportation, etc. We do not provide any such services. We function as a booking agent only and the privately-owned ranch is providing the land access.

Please do not arrive early without making prior arrangements. We often have people arrive a day early or in the morning the day before the hunt and expect to start hunting. We run a very tight schedule and have people booked in front of and behind you. We typically cannot accommodate you in any way until the evening before your hunt.  If you would like to come early and spend some time on the rifle ranges the day before your hunt, we can usually accommodate this with no problem. Please just confirm your intentions so we can ensure the ranges are not booked.

Please note, there is a 50% nonrefundable deposit included with your payment when booking.
