4,000 Square Foot Lodge Sleeps 19! January 16-February 28

History:

This Lodge was originally built in 1973 by Senator Bill O’Daniel with a 2000 square-foot addition with an indoor heated wave pool added 13 years ago. The spacious lodge is built out of trusses from the Evansville Indiana freight railroad station. An arborist has dated the wood used for the trusses at over 100 years old when the tree was cut down. That would mean the trees that made the original trusses for the lodge are as old as the United States! 

Location:

This property is located in Southern Illinois in the center of the United States. Easy access within 1.5 hours East of St. Louis, Missouri Airport (Lambert Field) and approximately 4.5 hours South of the Chicago Illinois Airport (O’Hare or Midway). The property is surrounded by woods and water. The 1/2 mile driveway brings you back to this secluded retreat surrounded by 35 acres of water, and 115 acres of timber.

The Lodge:

The two-story lodge is 4,000 square feet. The main level provides a large kitchen and dining room with a large dining table that can accommodate up to 14 if needed. With additional seating at the kitchen bar and smaller dining room table in the kitchen area that can seat another 7. The family room is very large with a 60” flat-screen 3D tv.

The great room includes a dartboard and air hockey table as well as an indoor pool/spa! This endless pool provides approximately 93 degrees heated water temp and the ability to set it for endless swimming against the current or relax in the seated area with jacuzzi bubbles. The pool is great for kids and can be securely and safely closed when not in use. The pool has multiple depth levels, 20”, 32”, 40”, and 48”. We have been told that the pool is much larger than what the pictures portray. We have had up to 14 kids in at one time comfortably!

The main floor includes 2 private bedrooms and a large master bedroom with 15 feet of glass overlooking the west lake.

The second floor is an open concept with three semi-private beds/bedrooms that sleeps 9 or more with a large full bathroom with both a corner shower and a claw-foot slipper bathtub.

There is a day bed with trundle in the great room as well as one queen air mattress and two twins. Air mattresses are 30” off the floor with baffles and a built-in air compressor. Total provided sleeping on beds for 15 people, +4 additional people on provided air mattresses for a total of 19.

Lake:

There are 2 lakes on the property, a 15-acre lake in the front and another 20-acre lake in the back creating a 35-acre surrounding water experience. We provide a 20-foot pontoon boat, rowboat, and a paddle boat for guests to use and we encourage you to bring your personal kayaks, canoes, and other water sports.

Base price is per night for 1-2 people. Additional people are an additional fee per person per night. Max 19.
