History Comes to Life - 5-Day

1-20 Guests

Description

Go back in time and follow the historic trail of Ernest Thompson Seton. It’s an amazing journey you’ll remember forever. Ernest Thompson Seton and Edward Preble made a canoe trip from Athabasca Landing to Aylmer Lake in 1907, and Seton published a popular account of the trip, The Arctic Prairies, in 1911. Our tour visits the document areas that they visited, including photographing wildlife, wildflowers, and natural land features from the expedition.

Kevin's Trip

Kevin M

Hi! We're your hosts, Kevin and Patti! Long before we became owners, we were adventurers just like you. We started our outfitter in 2000 to share our love of outdoors. We began with waterfowl and have grown our trip offerings to include moose, bison, wolf and coyote. After that growth, a tempting opportunity presented itself. That opportunity was purchasing a lake lodge in the beautiful Northwest Territories. This remote fly-in lodge is the newest jewel in our crown – and it has already brought anglers from all over to enjoy the best fishing anywhere.

GETTING TO US

Normal flight time to Lodge is 1 3/4 hrs. The charter lands on Rocknest Bay and you taxi to our dock right below the lodge.

Getting to the far North has never been easier. Airline flights are scheduled daily from the many airlines flying from the south to Yellowknife such as Air Canada-Jazz, First Air, West Jet and Canadian North. These Yellowknife flights connect to all major Canadian and many U.S. cities. You SHOULD arrive a day prior in Yellowknife to your fly out date in order to ensure your connections to us!

You’ll depart your hotel in Yellowknife for Float Plane base, leaving Yellowknife between 2:00 and 3:00 and arriving at our Lodge between 4:00-5:00 pm. Normal flight time to our Lodge is 1 3/4 hrs. The plane lands on Rocknest Bay and you taxi to our dock right below the lodge.

After you’ve arrived and get settled into your cabins, you’ll come to the Lodge to meet everyone!

WHEN DEPARTING…

When departing, plan to stay the night in Yellowknife – the float plane does not depart from our Lodge until later in the afternoon so you’ll need to fly home the following day.

Because we are truly dedicated to the satisfaction of each guest, we have structured occupancy of just 20 guests per week.
