Deep sea fishing charters are a one-of-a-kind, adventurous fishing excursion that any thrill-seeker should take at least once in their lifetime. There’s just something about being twenty to thirty miles away from the coast out on the waves that make deep sea fishing a bucket list must. The best part is, you don’t need to be an expert angler to enjoy your fishing trip since our deep-sea fishing charters include an experienced guide who can help you navigate the waters.
One of the things that make Outer Banks deep sea fishing so enticing is the possibility of reeling in a huge catch! Depending on the season and daily weather, there are a few different species that are most common. Some of these fish include Tuna, Snapper, Mahi, and many more.
Deep sea fishing charters in the summertime are a great opportunity to soak up the sun on your trip. Our Deep Sea trips range from 15 to 20 miles off the coast. Here are some of the most common fish caught during this time of year in Outer Banks, NC:
Tile fish
Sea Bass
Mahi Mahi
Amberjack
Our deep sea trips leave the docks at the Washington Baum Bridge access at 6:30 am and return to the dock at 2:30 - 3 o’clock.
We begin our offshore fishing charter trips leaving the dock 30 minutes before sunrise and returning to the dock at 2:30 - 3 o’clock. On our way out we search for weed lines that can hold Cobia or Mahi-Mahi. Once on the fishing grounds, we use electric reels to catch Tile and Black Seabass.
A successful deep-sea fishing trip has many moving parts. Since these trips require you to travel many miles from the coastline, you can expect your trip to consume most of your day. As a result, there are a few must-have items you should bring with you. You should also be diligent in making sure that you drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your Outer Banks deep sea fishing trip and have a healthy breakfast in the morning.
Overall, going on a deep sea fishing trip is an exciting adventure that everyone should take at least once in their lifetime. Trekking out across the ocean in search of a huge catch is a unique and thrilling experience that forms lasting memories for years to come
“Our family had the perfect day for fishing! I highly recommend Captain Mike Tierney and Uptick Charters. We spent a whole day fishing and were successful - catching yellow fin tuna and mahi-mahi. Captain Mike and Mate Chris were patient with the kids, explaining everything and answering all their questions - taking extra time to make our day a success. Thank you Captain Mike and Chris for a memorable trip.” a
Base price is for a full-day deep-sea fishing charter for up to 6 anglers.
