Your Experience

Your guide, Bill, is authorized within the Ozark National Scenic Riverways and he aims to bring back some of that earlier civility–going down the rivers with a local guide who knows from experience where the fish and the scenic attractions are. He wants to show you how the locals love these rivers– the natural scenic beauty, historical and cultural significance– and help you catch some fish. He targets species who thrive in the cool flowing, spring-fed Current and Jacks Fork rivers in the Missouri Ozarks.

A wide variety of fish live here, and are active depending on season and river section. Smallmouth and goggle-eye, trout, chain pickerel and walleye in the fall and winter are the most common catch.

We give you the option of a motorized boat or a 19-foot extra wide, square stern canoe to allow an angler time to concentrate on the fish at hand.

Fishing Trip Rates

Base price is per day for one angler for approximately 8 hours. For a 2-person trip, select the 2-Person Trip Add-On when booking.

  • Can’t spend all day? Please reach out to us!

  • We furnish a deli sandwich box lunch, water, ice and a cooler.

  • Fishing Gear and Tackle are available or bring your favorites.

As you plan your trip, we run trips on weekdays from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The rivers are busy on summer weekends with lots of people in the water. It’s worth it to take a day off for a superior experience.

Hello. I’m Bill and I’ve been running these rivers since I was nine years old, which means I’ve seen 50 years of these rivers. My family is from Eminence for quite a few generations, and I’ve never worked too far from home. After 30 years working with the National Park Service in maintenance, I retired and am starting out new as a river fishing guide, boat tour and land tour operator. My guide service & tours are authorized within Ozark National Scenic Riverways to provide interpretive guided boat touring, eco-touring, and fishing trips. We are very proud of this designation, and hope to continue meeting the high expectations this designation brings.

Rules & Guidelines

We recommend a wide-brimmed hat, sun screen, PFD if you have one, and dressing for the weather. A towel, and rain gear are recommended –brief afternoon thunderstorms are not uncommon. The water is 56-70 degrees F even in summer.

We will NOT put on if the river is closed by National Park Service, either for flooding or administrative reasons. Because these are headwaters streams, they tend to come up and go down very quickly– usually in a day or two. Be patient. The fishing just gets better afterwards.
