Description

Why Charter a fishing trip?

Fishing with a Professional Licensed Guide is totally different from venturing out on your own. Most guides spend anywhere from 30 to 40 hours a week on the water fishing with clients or scouting for areas holding fish to bring clients to. This time that we spend on the water increases our odds of finding fish dramatically over fishermen that have limited time on the water.

Professional guides are no different from any other professional. This is an occupation just like any other. We put in a lot more than the 30 to 40 hours we spend out on the water, most of this other time is spent studying maps, tide tables, and weather reports. We also have preparation time getting the boat and the equipment ready for our clients to use. This extra work we put in sets us apart from the normal everyday fisherman, it’s what makes us professionals. Fishing is never a guarantee, but fishing with a professional guide is the closest you will ever get to a guarantee in fishing. We may not limit out on every trip but we catch fish about 98% of the time, and limits of fish about 80% of the time.

Our goal is for our clients to have a great fishing trip with lots of excitement and to make sure we do it all safely.

What is provided?

We supply all our clients with the fishing equipment that they will need to make their fishing trip a success. We supply all the bait, rods, and reels that you will need.

We use spinning rods and reels on most of our trips. Most people have used a spinning rod before, and if not I can teach them how in a short time. If you have your favorite rod and reel and feel the need to bring it, feel free to do so. Be mindful that the space on board is limited and we are not responsible for your personal equipment. We do not allow personal tackle boxes on board because of limited space. We will have plenty enough terminal (hooks, corks, sinkers, etc.) tackle on board to make the trip a success.

Bait used will vary from live shrimp, small live fish, dead shrimp, etc. Live bait will be subject to availability. Artificial baits will vary from soft plastic jigs on the bottom, or 12 -24 inches under a float to hard plastic baits such as topwater, swim baits, and jerk baits. etc.

Fishing techniques change depending on water and weather conditions. This will be explained while fishing.

We will also provide two ice chests on board. One for fish and the other for food and drinks.

Where will we be fishing?

Places that we fish will also vary to where the fish are most plentiful. We will fish mostly East of the Mississippi River to the Mississippi State line from Slidell South to the Gulf of Mexico. This area would consist of Lake Pontchartrain, Lake Borgne, Shell Beach, Delacroix, out to the Chandeleur Islands.

What types of fish?

  • Redfish (red drum)

  • Speckled Trout (spotted sea trout

  • Flounder

  • Black Drum

  • Sheepshead

  • Large Mouth Bass.

Do I need a fishing license?

Fishing Licenses are required to fish in the State Of Louisiana waters by anyone 16 and over. We fish in brackish and saltwater so basic and saltwater licenses are required. You can purchase your license online at wlf.louisiana.gov (go to License and Permits) or you can call 1-888-765-2602. If you choose to purchase the 3-day Charter Boat License you may need my Charter Boat License information that I will share with you.

Fishing Licenses are also sold at almost every Sporting Goods store in Louisiana. If you need help obtaining a fishing license we can help.

  • If you are a resident of the state of Louisiana you can purchase a Louisiana resident license or you can purchase a three-day charter boat license to fish on a chartered trip with a Licensed Captain.

  • Anyone that is a non-resident of The State of Louisiana can purchase a non-resident license, but I recommend that they purchase the three-day charter boat license to fish on a chartered trip with a Licensed Captain. (The 3-day license is the cheapest way to go).

Base price is for a group of 1-2 people. Add additional anglers for an additional fee per angler.
