Mountain goat habitats in Alaska are harsh and unforgiving. Much time and energy are needed to successfully negotiate the poor late-season weather conditions and rugged terrain found on hunts for the long-haired trophy mountain goat. That’s why the expertise and experience of our guide service make such a difference.

We offer custom late-season Alaska mountain goat hunts. We have had well over 100% opportunity and enjoyed a nearly 100% success rate on our mountain goat hunts! We have done these goat hunts since 1991. It is one of North America’s most successful and sought-after goat hunts.

Our five-week mountain goat hunting season runs from the last week of October to the end of November. These goats, found only in the coastal mountains of Southeast Alaska, have incredibly beautiful long hair at this time of year. The goats are in rut during this season; combined with snow and cold weather, this pushes them to lower altitudes where they are more accessible, making the hunt enjoyable for everyone, without undue danger or stress.

Our Alaska Mountain Goat hunts take place in November every year. That is when they have the trophy hair of 6 to 8″ or longer. The long hair is truly what makes an awesome trophy in an Alaska Mountain Goat as well as accessibility. We do not have to climb for our Goats because of the rut and snowfall that take place this time of year. The country we hunt in is an experience in itself to see. You are surrounded by grand Alaskan glaciers calving and Alaskan geology like you have never seen. We are the original purveyors of the November Late Season Alaska Mountain Goat hunts by boat. We have been doing these hunts since 1991 now with just 12 allocated mountain goat boat hunts per year. Our Billy Goats average nine inches plus, and vary from 8.5 to 10 inches. In that time we have had nearly 100% success rate with 100% opportunity on these 7-day hunts. This alone speaks volumes about our Alaska mountain goat boat hunts.

The area we hunt is the only one like it in North America, with a high population of between 400 and 600 Mountain Goats. On a bad day, we may only see 20 or 30 Goats. On a good day, we can see as many as 100 Goats. The long hair, accessibility of the goats, not having to climb to hunt them, along with five-star accommodations aboard our luxury yacht each evening is what makes this hunt so unique. Each hunter has their own private cabin with a full bathroom. You will have all the amenities of a home, along with a full-time chef onboard.

You’ll fly to Juneau, Alaska, and take a seaplane flight to our 80-foot pleasure yacht, the Alaskan Harvest. We’ll anchor in a small cove in the middle of Alaska mountain goat country and use our 16-foot aluminum boats to reach our hunting areas each day. After your day’s Mountain Goat Hunt, you’ll arrive back at the Alaskan Harvest to delicious meals, hot showers, and warm, comfortable beds. We average Alaska billy goats with 9-inch horns (horns range from 8 1/2 to 10 inches.) Mountain Goat hunts are very appealing to all levels of physical ability.
