Seasonality and Locations

Best time to go? Any time is a good time to go fishing! We catch catfish on these rivers all year round. In spring the fish are feeding heavy before the june spawn. In mid summer they are feeding to recuperate from the spawn. In fall they are bulking up for winter and in the winter they are grouped up in deep holes. Winter time is a great time to fish in front of these deep holes and catch giant fish! A lot of big fish are caught in the winter so don’t let a little cold weather shy you away.

We fish in multiple locations, anywhere from Grafton, Illinois all the way down to St. Louis, Missouri. We will reach out to you the day before your trip and let you know where we have been catching the most fish and which boat ramp to meet us at along with directions.

Cancellations and Weather Policies

When you book a trip there is a $100 deposit included with your payment when booking.

If for some reason you must cancel your trip, there must be 7 days notice prior to the trip date to receive a refund of your deposit. After 7 days prior there will be no refund of deposits but if you would like to reschedule your trip we may do that and put the deposit towards that day.

The weather and river are constantly changing, so if for some reason we need to cancel the trip due to poor conditions we will gladly reschedule your trip at the closest convenient time for us both. A little rain is not going to kill you, it is up to the Captain whether or not we need to cancel a trip due to conditions. If the Captain does not call off the trip and you do not show up the day of because there is a chance of rain you will not receive a refund of your deposit.

Can you keep fish?

Yes you can keep fish, but any fish over 12 pounds will be photographed and released for conservation reasons, we want to keep our big breeders in the water. If you plan on keeping some fish please bring a cooler so you can transport them home.

What should you bring?

We have all the gear necessary to catch these giants. We only require that you have a valid Illinois or Missouri fishing license.

We will have a cooler with bottled water, and you’re welcome to bring something different if you like.

You’re also welcome to bring lunch or snacks that—it is up to you.

We will have life jackets for everyone on the boat. Children under 12 years of age or at the captain's discretion will be required to wear a life jacket the entire time we are on the boat. The life jackets we have are not meant for comfort, they are what is required by law, so if you or a child plans on wearing one all day it would be best if you brought one that is comfortable.

Always plan for the weather! If there is a chance of rain, bring a raincoat because a little rain is not going to stop us from fishing. Remember your sunscreen and sunglasses. On colder days it's better to have too many layers than not enough.
