14-Day Combo Brown Bear, Black Bear, and Mountain Goat

Description

Brown & Black Bear/Goat

In September the majority of Black Bears will be above timber line feeding on low bush blueberries in ankle high vegetation. Mountain Goats will normally be found in the same areas and at approximately the same altitude as Black Bears, making combination hunts possible. Access to our hunt area can range from 4-wheel drive to jet boat, canoe and foot.

The Goat population in this area is very healthy. It produces billies in the 9" - 10" class. Success ratio 95%. Southeast Alaska goat hunters must choose between trophy quality or weather conditions. Earlier season hunts have better weather, but shorter- haired goats. Late season hunts for longer-haired goats have a better chance of bad weather.

Note: I guide in places which usually minimize the strenuous and dangerous climbs, often associated with goat hunting, but hunters must be in very good physical and mental condition. The Goat hunt is an extremely difficult hunt.

Brown Bear Fall hunts in September and October involve hunting the salmon streams from tree stands or ground blinds during the peak of the salmon runs. Bears move in and out of the bordering brush while feeding on fish. Shots are usually at close range, very good opportunity for bow hunters.

Base Price is for 14 Day Hunt. Includes 2 travel days to/from Haines. Guide will take you to the shooting range and help you pack for the hunt during that time.

The consumption of alcohol in camp is highly discouraged. No exceptions will be made concerning hunting regulations, & i reserve the right to terminate any hunt at any time if my client should demonstrate disregard for firearm safety, hunting ethics or regulations.
